An Established And Complete Woman refers to parodies of a 2020 comic by illustrator Lainey Molnar intended to celebrate the numerous aspects of womanhood, saying both a married and single woman are "established and complete." After the Twitter account @RabidFeminist posted an edited version labeling the single woman "a victim of feminism" in May 2022, it began inspiring parodies and was used as an exploitable where additional elements were added to the original for humorous effect.
On November 19th, 2020, Lainey Molnar uploaded a webcomic showing two versions of "an established and complete woman" — one depicted with a husband and child and the other depicted as single drinking wine and eating pizza. The comic is an edited version of her original, as the man she originally used as a model for the comic purportedly took issue with his likeness being used. The post gained over 102,000 likes in roughly 18 months (shown below).
On May 5th, 2022, Twitter account @RabidFeminist posted an edited version of the comic that gave the woman on the left more children and the woman on the right various new traits, such as "college debt," a cat, a black dildo and a running tally of "men I've whored myself out to." The woman on the right is labeled "A victim of feminism." As @RabidFeminist generally posts feminist images and memes, it seems unlikely that they were the creators of the edited Molnar comic. It's purported that this edit comes from 4chan, as a 4chan thread about the edited comic posted after it began to spread on Twitter refers to the comic as "your Lainey edits," suggesting 4chan was the image's source. Of note, through the 2020s, 4chan users have edited several of Molnar's comics to drastically alter their messages, as they have in the past with Ben Garrison, Sarah Andersen and the NSFW Laineyball meme.
The edited version of the comic generated significant discussion on Twitter, with users commenting that the so-called "victim of feminism" appeared to be living a more attractive life than the "established and complete woman," as well as noting the poor photoshop in the edit. User @KevOnStage tweeted the comic saying, "That's right! A dildo as big as your cat!," gaining over 2,200 retweets and 34,000 likes in one day (shown below). Charlotte Clymer wrote, "This is very conflicting because I know they think the image on the right is somehow bad but that is 100% exactly what I want in life. Pizza, cats, childless. That is the motherfucking dream."
Edits of the comic began appearing shortly after. User @HowellDawdy posted an edit that added a third panel labeled "Hot Cartman," gaining over 900 retweets and 12,000 likes in less than 24 hours (shown below).
