Angry Tom Brady refers to jokes made about New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady looking upset during his team's 42-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on opening night of the 2017 NFL season.
Origin
On September 7th, 2017, the New England Patriots lost the first football game of the 2017 NFL season 42-27 to the Kansas City Chiefs. With a little over two minutes left in the 4th quarter of the game, the camera caught the Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, sitting on the sideline looking upset (shown below).
Spread
Shortly after the moment was captured by the cameras, fans on Twitter rooting against the defending Super Bowl champion Patriots reacted with schadenfreude by joking about the image and the team's performance. For example, user @cjzero paired the clip of Brady looking angry with the music from Curb Your Enthusiasm, gaining over 480 retweets and 750 likes in less than a day (shown below).
