Apple's IOS 18 Eye Tracking refers to a series of memes about Apple's updated version of their software, the iOS 18, which included AI-powered accessibility features including eye tracking to control iPad and iPhones. The eye tracking feature sparked some jokes and memes on Twitter (X) about how people would use it on their phones.

Origin

On May 15th, 2024, Apple announced a batch of new AI-powered accessibility features, including the eye tracking to control iPads and iPhones. The company[1] says these features are coming "later this year," in the iOS 18 update. On the same day, X page @PopBase posted a video showcasing the accessibility feature (seen below), which garnered over 31 million views and 57,000 likes in two days.

Shortly after the feature was announced, X users started to share memes and jokes about how they would use the eye tracking feature. For instance, on May 16th, 2024, X[2] user @ysheeblack posted a video of a drag queen staring at the camera, captioning "Me changing the music to something I like at the party" to express how they would use the IOS 18 feature. The post (seen below) received over 3 million views and 95,000 likes in a day.

On May 15th, 2024, X[3] user @monasriel posted a reaction video joking about how they'd use the IOS 18 feature. The post (seen below) amassed more than 1.8 million views and 76,000 likes in two days.
