Be Who You Are For Your Pride is a song sung by a Black woman named Queenzzielocthevoice for the LGBTQ+ community in relation to Pride Month. The original video was posted to TikTok in June 2021 and received multiple stitches, Duets and sound usage going into 2022.

Origin

On June 10th, 2021, TikToker queenzzielocthevoice posted a video (since-deleted) of her singing to her daughter, "Be who you are for your Pride! Don't hide!" Although the TikTok's since been deleted, it was reposted to YouTube on June 19th, 2021, by the channel yves thee stallion, where it received roughly 737,200 views and 78,000 likes over the course of one year (shown below).[1]



Spread

On June 23rd, 2021, TikToker[2] queenzzielocthevoice posted another video of her singing her aforementioned "Pride Anthem," earning roughly 990,500 plays and 215,100 likes in one year (shown below, left). TikTokers used this sound for their videos going into July 2021. For instance, on July 20th, 2021, TikToker[3] victoriaalikesyou used it over a screen-recording of them texting their dad that they're gay, earning roughly 772,700 plays and 243,300 likes in 11 months (shown below, right).

On July 20th, 2021, Queenzzielocthevoice posted a full-length version of the song to YouTube titled, "Be who you are For your Pride Don't Hide," earning roughly 144,100 views in 11 months (shown below).



The aforementioned song started to be used by TikTokers in July and August 2021. For instance, on August 6th, 2021, TikToker[4] goldnfish01 used it for a video that earned roughly 5.3 million plays and 1.1 million likes in ten months (shown below, left).

A year later, on June 3rd, 2022, the official TikTok[5] account of Genius posted a video that resurfaced the original "Be Who You Are For Your Pride" video, earning roughly 1.5 million likes and 408,600 likes in three days (shown below, right).
