Its Fucking Pride Month refers to an Emojipasta meme comprised of a paragraph riddled with emojis celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride Month in June and stating that it is illegal to be heterosexual until the 1st of July (the end of Pride Month). The copypasta was coined in 2018 on Reddit, resurfacing yearly in June on platforms like X, Tumblr and Instagram, and was inspired by the It's "June" Which Mean It's Illegal To Be Straight image macro and exploitable meme.

Origin

A year before the "Its Fucking Pride Month" copypasta went viral in 2019, Redditor^[4] @eGGsY posted the earliest known version of the "It's June Which Mean It's Illegal to Be Straight" meme on June 11th, 2018, which features Pikachu holding the LGBTQ+ flag and the text "It's June which mean it's illegal to be straight. Anyone caught not being a GAY will be immediately reported to the FBI. Assexuals are OK but Y'all are on thin fucking ice." The post (seen below) amassed more than 6,800 upvotes and 195 comments in six years.

On June 1st, 2019, Redditor^[1] @Doughie_ posted the earliest known version of the "Its Fucking Pride Month" copypasta to the /r/copypasta subreddit. The paragraph filled with emojis says during June "you're not allowed to be straight" and "until the 1st of July all [heterosexuals] shall be persecuted by law." The post (seen below) amassed more than 6,700 upvotes and 1,200 comments in five years.

The post received roughly 600 views and 13 likes in four days.

On June 26th, 2022, Instagram user @eve.lime^[3] posted a carousel of pictures captioned with the Its Fucking Pride Month copypasta (seen below).
