Bird Sounds TikTok Sound Effect refers to a sound effect popular on the social media app TikTok. The sound comprises of various birds chirping and cooing, with different creators enacting what they think the birds' conversation could be about. Three years after the sound's upload in 2019, it popularized as a lip-dub template in early 2023.

Origin

On October 3rd, 2019, TikToker[1] @aksin422 posted a video featuring drone footage and a chirping and cooing sound effect. The video gathered over 28,000 views and 2,000 likes in over three years (seen below, left). The sound effect became a popular backdrop to various nature and travel vlog videos on the TikTok,[2][3] however, the earliest known use of the sound for a humorous lip dub trend was in 2022. On May 22nd, 2022, TikToker[4] @mikeyyk88 posted a video of himself cooing along to the sound, gathering over 4.4 million plays and 290,000 likes in a year (seen below, right).

In March 2023, various TikTokers began using the bird sound effect to make humorous lip dub videos. TikToker[5] @juggalosupporter69 posted one such video on March 7th, 2023, gathering over 1.8 million plays and 1 million likes (seen below, left). Also on March 7th, TikToker[6] @msgingersnapqueen posted a video using the sound effect, gathering over 4 million plays and 600,000 likes (seen below, right).
