About

Ouuu shi or Fym ouuu shi, also known as Ouu Shi Meme, refers to a catchphrase derived from a 2024 viral YouTube video titled "20 GIRLS VS 1 RAPPER: LIL RT." In subsequent years, the phrase was coined and solidified on TikTok following user reactions to the initial video. In May 2026, the phrase experienced a major resurgence on TikTok as it was featured in numerous videos, skits and memes by TikTokers. In the expression, "shi" is slang for "shit," and "fym" means "fuck you mean?"

Origin

The phrase has its origins in a YouTube[1] video posted on July 22nd, 2024, by the channel and content creator Mikeadelabu. The video, titled "20 GIRLS VS 1 RAPPER: LIL RT," featured young children competing in a "Pop The Balloon" style competition, with one of the prompts being a dance battle between the contestants. The video received over 3 million views, 72,000 likes and 381,000 dislikes (using the Return YouTube Dislike browser extension, which is an estimate) in less than two years. The comments are notably disabled on the upload.

On August 14th, 2024, TikTok[2] user @._duality posted a clip in which Mikeadelabu reacts to one of the children dancing, remarking "ouu shit" or "ouuu shi," accompanied by the caption, "Fym ouuu shi." The video received over 7.2 million views and 861,200 likes in less than two years.

Spread

Both the original video and the phrase "ouu shi" would later resurface in 2026 as the Ouu Shi meme saw a notable resurgence on TikTok.

On March 24th, 2026, TikTok[3] user @theoneandonlykp13 posted an edited clip from the video, humorously pointing out the inappropriate behavior from the content creator, which received over 916,700 views and 40,200 likes in less than two months.
