The Blackberry Dragon, also known as Hey Everybody It's the Blackberry Dragon, refers to a viral video of a dragon next to blackberries on a vine, saying in a high-pitched, effeminate voice, "Hey, everybody, it's the Blackberry Dragon." The dragon then counts the number of berries that surround him. The original video was posted to Instagram as a Reel in 2024. The Blackberry Dragon artwork used in the video was created by gothic and fantasy artist Anne Stokes. The meme spread on other video platforms like TikTok heading into 2025. Later, a series of Fruit Dragons emerged based on the original clip, such as the Grape Dragon, Garlic Dragon, Zucchini Dragon and Roasted Apple Dragon.

Origin

On September 2nd, 2020, gothic and fantasy artist Anne Stokes shared artwork on her Instagram^[1] account, @annestokesart, showing a dragon next to blackberries on a branch. Over five years, the post gained over 1,800 likes (shown below).

The image was originally shared by Stokes on her DeviantArt^[2] account, Ironshod, on October 20th, 2008, gaining over 5,400 favorites in 17 years.

On February 10th, 2024, Instagram^[3] user @inhalemywasps posted a video that used Stokes's artwork and animated the dragon's mouth, coinciding with a voiceover that said, "Hey everybody, it's the Blackberry Dragon." Over one year, the video gained over 75,900 likes (shown below).

In the video's comment section, an Instagram user named @thefruitdragons claimed that they created the video but that their original account had been deleted. On July 31st, 2025, Instagram^[4] user @thefruitdragons shared a wider cropped version of the original video, gaining over 11,300 likes in 15 days.

On February 13th, 2024, TikToker^[5] @thereallyrealjohnegbert reposted the Blackberry Dragon video, gaining over 25,300 likes in a year.

On July 23rd, 2025, Instagram^[6] user @milfsaremysavior reposted the video, gaining over 40,800 likes in three weeks.

On July 26th, TikToker^[7] @rnc424 posted a video using the Blackberry Dragon audio and riffing on the Red Circle Perpetrators format, by likening an Elden Ring: Nightreign boss to the Blackberry Dragon. Over 20 days, the video gained over 73,300 likes (shown below).

On July 31st, 2025, Instagram^[4] @thefruitdragons reposted the original Blackberry Dragon video, claiming that they created it. In the following days, @thefruitdragons shared other so-called "Fruit Dragon" videos.

For instance, on August 7th, Instagram^[8] user @thefruitdragons shared a video of a Zucchini Dragon, gaining over 68,400 likes in eight days (shown below).

On August 14th, 2025, TikToker^[9] @freddyfazbutt1983 reposted the Zucchini Dragon video, gaining over 22,800 likes in a day.

Also on August 14th, TikToker^[10] @mbisk34 posted a video of himself ranting about the "popularization of the Blackberry Dragon" meme, gaining over 94,000 likes in a day (shown below).
