"Booker, Catch!" is a memorable stock quote attributed to the A.I. companion character Elizabeth in the 2013 first-person shooter game Bioshock Infinite. In the game, Elizabeth utters the quote to draw the attention of the player shortly before tossing over an item or tool in assistance. Since the release of the game in March 2013, the quote has grown into a popular subject of in-jokes among fans of the Bioshock series, leading to the creation of fan art illustrations, as well as parodies and remix videos.

Origin

In Bioshock Infinite, Elizabeth acts as a passive companion during Booker Dewitt's quest to escape the floating city of Columbia alongside the girl. Throughout the game, Elizabeth will provide aid to Booker in the form of med kits, ammo, salt (mana) or money which she will toss to the player if they are at a distance. During these moments, Elizabeth will occasionally shout "Booker, catch!".

Spread

On April 4th, 2013, Tumblr user wip submitted a webcomic which pokes fun at Elizabeth's role as a companion in the game (shown below, left).^[3] The post gathered over 7.500 notes in 2 years and was subsequently reposted on FunnyJunk by user danjazown on June 14th, 2013, where it gathered over 33.800 views and 806 upvotes.^[4] On April 12th, 2013, Tumblr user katiicombs posted an animated GIF that pokes fun at the gameplay (shown below, right). In 2 years, the post gathered over 4.500 notes.^[1] The GIF was subsequently shared on /r/Gaming by redditor jaycrew on April 21st, 2013, which gathered 1.736 points (90% upvoted) and 460 comments prior to being archived.^[2]

On May 31st, 2013, YouTube channel Inside Gaming uploaded a Let's Play video of Grand Theft Auto IV modified with Bioshock Infinite characters that guest stars Jason Zumwalt (who voices Roman Bellic in GTAIV) and Oliver Vaquer (who voices Robert Lutece in Bioshock Infinite). Throughout the video, Oliver will repeated say "Booker, Catch!" while doing an impersonation of Elizabeth (shown below, left). The video gathered over 1.6 million views in 2 years. On February 12th, 2014, YouTuber FoxTail8000 uploaded a video made with Source FilmMaker titled "Booker Catch" that uses audio clips from the Inside Gaming video (shown below, right). The video gathered over 80,500 views in a year.

On October 8th, 2013, YouTube channel Nerdist uploaded a live action parody video titled "BOOKER, CATCH!" which gathered over 305,000 views as of September, 2015.
