About
Cancel Koda refers to an attempt to cancel CarTok influencer @mavxmedia28 (Koda) for purportedly insulting another car influencer, @sky_z33, for having scoliosis. The hashtag #CancelKoda was started to campaign for the user's cancelation in late October 2022 after the insulting DM between Koda and CarToker @maces2k was leaked by fellow CarToker @officially_wide, spreading across TikTok over the following days and sparking widespread confusion on the platform among some who were unfamiliar with the incident.
Origin
On August 11th, 2022, TikToker[1] and car influencer @mavxmedia28 (Koda), who is now private, posted a video showing off one of her cars, captioned, "I'm a white girl but not 'let me wrap my car pink and put heart wheels' white girl." The video was largely not received well and numerous TikTokers duetted it and criticized the sentiment, allegedly criticizing Koda in the comment section too. According to a later TikTok[2] posted by @maces2k, Koda's responses to some commenters were purportedly sexist and homophobic.

In late October, now-deleted TikToker @officially_wide (Dalton) posted a video exposing Koda for DMing another car influencer, @maces2k (Mace) and making fun of her "boyfriend" @sky_z33's (Sky) scoliosis, writing, "I'd say the same about your little bf but yeeesh, he's tried so hard to fix himself but nothin will fix his retarded ass back." The video contained the DMs, which started midway through a conversation, and photos of Sky's scoliosis, followed by a call to spread the hashtag "#CancelKoda." The video's contents have since been reuploaded to TikTok[3] (shown below).

Spread
On October 26th, 2022, TikToker[4] @maces2k, who was the one Koda sent the scoliosis message, posted a video (shown below, left) explaining the drama's backstory. Apparently, she and Dalton were sent a video where Koda said she hates her while they were at a car show. Shortly after, Mace reposted it because she "thought it was funny." The two started beefing back and forth, but it was purportedly "nothing serious." She then explained how Sky and Koda were "kind of friends" before all this, but said Koda ended up treating him "like garbage."
Things took a more serious turn after Mace posted a video revealing that she wrapped her car in pink. Koda started arguing with her about that, which eventually led to the text about Sky's scoliosis, inspiring the exposé video by Dalton and the subsequent hashtag #CancelKoda. The video gained over 580,000 views in a day. That same day, Sky also posted a video to TikTok responding to the hashtag, thanking people for their support and gaining over 780,000 views in a day (shown below, right).

The campaign and hashtag spread across TikTok over the following days as CarTok influencers joined in on the campaign and explained the drama (examples shown below). On that day, Dexerto[5] and other media outlets then began reporting on the hashtag.
