About
"concon" is a popular soundtrack from a Japanese arcade music video game jubeat knit, which is produced by KONAMI as a part of BEMANI line. This electric-pomp styled song has been used in many MAD remixes on the Japanese video sharing service Nico Nico Douga (NND) after its release in 2011.
Origin
"concon" was written by a Japanese composer S-C-U for jubeat knit APPEND released for Japanese arcades on March 23rd, 2011.[1] It was an expanded release of jubeat knit, the third title in the jubeat series launched in the previous year.
Spread
The earliest instance in this series was a tutorial-style video analysing button-press timings with the JAKA JAN scene taken from K-On!, titled "janjan", was posted to NND on March 25th, 2011 (shown below, left).[2] But a video uploaded in the following month, "con↑con↓", is the most well-known concon MAD due to its deep relationships to the Japanese gay porn meme A midsummer Night's Lewd Dream (shown below, right).[3] This video has received more than 220 thousand views and spawned several of its own remixes. Like these videos, concon MADs are usually named by the phrasal template "XX", repeating the same short phrase twice.

NND's search results for the song name includes dozens of MAD videos though each videos' pageviews aren't so large.[4] Additionally, several YouTube Poop Music Videos (YTPMVs) reusing this song can also found on YouTube.[5]
