Cum Is Stored in The Brain, often posted with the rejoinder, "And I Have a Headache", is an online catchphrase and medical inaccuracy similar to the Pee Is Stored In The Balls meme. The phrase is commonly paired with an image of the video game character Duke Nukem after the post that originated the catchphrase and a popular voice-acted reading of the phrase paired it with Nukem in 2018.
Origin
On January 1st, 2018, Tumblr[1] user phillip-bankss reblogged two posts by @druidviolence (account since deleted), the first one reading "Cum is stored in the brain," and the second adding "And I have a headache" along with a picture of Duke Nukem. The post gained over 30,000 notes in five and a half years (shown below).
Spread
On April 12th, 2018, YouTuber Goblin voiced the post as Nukem in a video, gaining over 114,000 views in five years (shown below).
The posts established the catchphrase's association with Nukem, and an image macro of Nukem and the quote spread widely on Twitter over the following years (example shown below).
In the late 2010s and early 2020s, the phrase would often be used to accompany selfies, thirst traps or other memes and images. For example, on September 20th, 2021, Twitter user @ovenware_[2] posted it along with three photos of themselves, gaining 18 retweets and 285 likes in two years (shown below, left). On January 9th, 2020, iFunny[3] user Shaggy posted a meme pairing the phrase with the Pokémon Calyrex, gaining over 280 likes in three years (shown below, right).
2023 Tenomnft Tweet
On June 27th, 2023, Twitter user @Tenomnft posted a medically inaccurate take on sex reading, "During intercourse the woman absorbs the literal cerebral fluid and essence of the man she’s sleeping with, the fluid that contains the nutrients the man chooses to feed his brain; so don’t ever ‘it’s just sex, I’m free and liberated’ me." The tweet (shown below) was widely mocked, as many interpreted it to mean "cum is stored in the brain."
