Dan Nicky Your Bobbie s is a meme based on a badly botched Instagram comment made in reply to a provocative selfie of celebrity Nicki Minaj posted in 2014. "Dan Nicky your Bobbie s" is clearly an attempt at typing "Damn Nicki, Your Boobies." The phrase has been parodied by reformatting the phrase, and otherwise serves as an in-joke phrase for those in the know. More comments from Nicki Minaj's Instagram similar to "Dan Nicky Your Bobbie s" have also become popular for their thirsty nature.

Origin

The commenter, known as Instagram handle "quadirgray," remarked "Dan Nicky your Bobbie s" on a Minaj selfie posted on December 5th, 2014.^[3] It was the first of an unearthed sea of similar expressions (shown below).^[1]

Spread

A screenshot of this exchange circulated around Tumblr, gaining popularity in June 2015 when tumblr user "mashedpotatoes" pointed out in a comment that "this man used 3 names in that damn comment and not a single one was her’s."^[1] This subsequent post has gained over 400,000 notes, as of August 2016. As of September 2016, the comments on Minaj's original Instagram photo that spawned the meme are now almost entirely 'Dan Nicky Your Bobbie s' imitators (first shown below).^[3] Likewise, quadirgrey's instagram uploads are plagued with imitators copying his comment.^[9]

The meme was researched by the 2015 archival blog MemeDocumentation. ^[2] On August 27th, 2015, Smosh ^[4] named the meme as one of the fastest to perish on Tumblr, though Buzzfeed^[8] included the comment in a roundup of similarly botched comments on Nicki Minaj's Instagram on October 21st, 2015.
