About

"Double D's Epic Doorbell" is a fad started in August 2010 and is part of the Youtube Poop-series. It involves editing a small clip from 'The Ed-Touchables', the first episode of the Ed, Edd 'n Eddy series. In the original clip, Edd (referred to as "Double D") hears his doorbell ring while going upstairs, and then rushes to his door to find out nobody is there. He then rings his own doorbell to check if it really was the doorbell he heard. After that he scratches his head as a sign of confusion.
The episode is found below. The clip starts at 0:46.

The purpose of this fad is to edit this clip so that the doorbell will play a recognisable melody, using the original doorbell sound. This would result in Edd hearing the melody and then scratching his head, which gives it a funny outcome.

Origin

On August 21th 2010, Youtube-user Chinelin started the fad by posting his video Double D's Epic Kirby Doorbell on Youtube. In it, the doorbell sounds like the well-known melody from Kirby Superstar.

The first one to contribute to the fad was DingosPwnTheWorld, who gave the doorbell a Star Fox 2 sound. This video was submitted the day after.

After this, many more videos followed, of which some can be found in the Video Section.

Parodies

Of course, giving the doorbell another sound was not the only thing you could do with it.

Even today people still contribute to the fad.
