Dude, Chill, That's Your Girlfriend is a catchphrase from the anime Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie said by Yuu Izumi's classmate when he sees Shikimori. After the episode aired, the scene was used as a template for numerous redraw memes as an exploitable image macro.

Origin

On April 17th, 2022, episode two of the anime Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie premiered. In the episode, Yuu Izumi blushes when he sees Shikimori. He then asks, "Who is that hot guy?," to which his classmate answers "Dude, chill. That's your girlfriend." On April 19th, 2022, Crunchyroll's official Twitter^[1] uploaded the scene (shown below).

Spread

Two weeks after the scene aired, it became a prominent template for redraws on Twitter. For example, on May 1st, 2022, Twitter^[2] user @NOTZiegler uploaded fan art of Hololive virtual YouTubers Takanashi Kiara and Mori Calliope. The image received more than 2,600 likes and 367 retweets in one week (shown below, left). That same day, Twitter^[3] user @_tapeanna then uploaded Genshin Impact fan art of Keqing and Ganyu. The image received more than 89,000 likes and 15,200 retweets in one week (shown below, right).

On May 6th, 2022, Twitter^[4] user @parkjihoe_n uploaded SPY x FAMILY fan art of Loid Forger and Yor. The image received more than 38,200 likes and 8,000 retweets in three days. The next day, Facebook^[5] page "Anime Senpai" reposted the art, where it received more than 10,000 reactions and 1,300 shares in less than 48 hours (shown below).
