About

Dynamic Entry is a fighting technique used by Maito Guy in the Shōnen anime and manga series Naruto. The technique consist of the individual appearing out of nowhere and performing a jumping kick at an unexpecting target.

Origin

The technique made its debut at chapter 148 of the manga and at episode 85 in the original anime. In the scene, Guy ambushes Jiraiya which he confuses as one of the Akatsuki.

Spread

On May 8th, 2006, Youtube user Mokou Houraisan posted a video regarding the scene in the anime (shown above) which gained over 406.000 views in 9 years. On January 28th, 2007, Youtuber CyberDemonXD posted a video which shows Rock Lee performing the technique while practicing with Guy (show below, left) which gained over 142.000 views in 8 years. On August 21st, 2008, Youtuber loopfreak uploaded a video which shows a soccer match with the audio from the dynamic entry scene edited in (shown below, right) which gained more than 137.900 views in 6 years.

On September 30th, 2009, Funnyjunk user jayc submitted a demotivational poster titled "dynamic entry" which gained over 14.000 views and 18 upvotes in 5 years[3].

On January 27th, 2011, Urban Dictionary user LeagueOfLulz submitted an entry regarding Dynamic Kick[1]. Dynamic Entry was also submitted to TVtropes as a trope describing characters that dramatically appears out of a sudden with an attack that hits an unexpecting target[2]. On June 11th, 2011, youtuber Zack Elmi posted an extended version of the scene between Guy and Jiraiya which gained over 827.000 views in 3 years.

On August 12th, 2014, 9gag user BEAUTIFUL_FRANK posted a gif titled "Dynamic Entry" which shows a suprise attack in the FPS game Battlefield. The post gained up to 37,827 points and 617 comments in 9 months[4]. On November 7th, 2014, Funnyjunk user sebullon submitted a post titled "No More Dynamic Entry" which shows a disabled Guy after the events of the fourth shinobi world war. The post gained more than 12.000 views and 156 upvotes in 6 months[5].
