Weakness Disgusts Me is an image macro series based on shot from the anime Naruto. The shot of the character Madara saying "Weakness Disgusts Me" is usually captioned by something characterizing another's failures.
Origin
The moment comes from episode 332 of Naruto: Shippūden, which first aired in Japan on August 1st, 2013 (clip below).[1] In a scene, Madara mocks the characters the 5 Kages, by claiming that they are too weak to destroy him. To this he said, "Weakness disgusts me."
Spread
On October 1st, 2013, a shot from the episode in which Madara says the line was posted by Tumblr [2] user theonlystefers. The post (shown below, left) received more than 80 notes in four years.
On December 16th, 2016, BuzzFeed India tweeted[3] the image with the caption "when someone doesn’t have the same tolerance for spicy food that you do." The post (shown below, right) received more than 60 retweets and 80 likes. It was later re-shared by the Facebook [4] account GokuAndNaruto, receiving more than 20,000 reactions, 9,700 shares and 2,200 comments.
That day, Instagram [5] user @menma_officiall posted the picture with the caption "When your girls ask why you never let her play games with you, but it took her 10 minutes to figure out how to jump." Within one year, the post (shown below, right) received more than 1,000 likes
In May 2017, Imgflip[7] user Dr.X posted the image with the caption "When people at work say that they can't drink coffee without milk and sugar." The post (shown below) received more than 8,700 views.
In June 2017, the caption was added to Imgflip,[6] allowing users to add captions by user PraditoHerdiawan, receiving more than 14,000 views.
