Evan Burger or Did He Just Say That His Last Name Is Burger? is a series of brainrot memes based on a scene from the 2021 anthology TV series Just Beyond where a school bully, Trevor Larkin, makes fun of a new student named Evan Burger after he introduces himself to the class, poking fun at him for having the last name "Burger." The memes were popularized on TikTok and Reels in late February 2026, with the scene largely becoming the subject of absurd brainrot edits and memes that remix the scene with unrelated video clips about hamburgers.

Origin

On October 13th, 2021, the horror comedy anthology series Just Beyond was released on Disney+. In the show's seventh episode, "Standing Up For Yourself," a new student named Evan Burger introduces himself to a teacher. A bully, Trevor Larkin, excitedly says, "Did he just say that his last name is Burger?" and continues to make fun of Evan Burger's name, saying, "Do you come with fries?" and "Is your middle name cheese?"

The clip has been uploaded online numerous times since its release, including a March 2023 edit by the Top 10 YouTube^[1] channel that gained over 170,000 views in three years.

On December 8th, 2024, TikToker^[2] @funny_clips9219 posted the clip, garnering over 605,000 views in just over a year. The clip started to become the subject of memes in late 2025. One of the earliest examples is a niche brainrot edit posted on October 6th, 2025 by TikToker^[3] @skonsowonsotherater, garnering over 120,000 views in two months.

Memes based on the scene became increasingly popular in February 2026.

On February 8th, 2026, TikToker^[4] and Instagram^[5] user alexwhyem posted a prank video where he orders a meal under the name "Evan Burger" at a McDonald's and another friend acts like the bully in the clip, garnering over 4.2 million views on the former and 340,000 likes on the latter in about two weeks.

On February 16th, TikToker^[6] @not_steve67 posted a video consisting of an image of a burger with the clip playing in a red circle in the corner, garnering over 203,000 views in four days.

On February 18th, TikToker^[7] @bradleypiotrowski posted a brainrot edit that heavily features the Evan Burger clip and includes a "burger count," garnering over 3.6 million views in two days.

On February 19th, TikToker^[8] @wither_w posted a similar edit based on the clip, garnering over 1.2 million views in a day.
