About

Australian Senator Gen Z Slang Speech or Fatima Payman Brainrot Speech refers to a viral video in which Australian Senator Fatima Payman gave a slang overload speech directed to Gen Z and Gen Alpha using several brainrot slang terms and memes like "Just Put My Fries in the Bag Bro," "Skibidi Toilet," "Sigma," "Goofy Ahh" and many other popular terms. The Senator's goal was to critique the Australian government's recent social media age restriction legislation. Payman's slang speech became a viral topic on social media in mid-September 2024, sparking a divisive debate about the politician's two-minute statement at the Australian Parliament House.

Origin

On September 11th, 2024, Australian Senator Fatima Payman addressed[1] the "sigmas of Australia" during a two-minute speech at the Parliament House in which she said the government is filled with "cap-aholics" and "yap-aholics." The Guardian posted the Senator's full statement (seen below), amassing more than 24,000 views and 630 likes in a day.

According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation,[2] Payman's speech was written by her 21-year-old policy advisor, Ezra Isma, who said that he "wouldn't necessarily use such language earnestly outside the chamber."
