Later that same day, Dragoneer made a post to X^[4] writing, "Excuse me while I go throw myself in front of a train," sharing a screenshot claiming that his medical bills would cost roughly $25,000 USD (shown below, right).

On August 6th, 2024, the announcement was posted to the subreddit /r/furry,^[7] garnering over 2,100 upvotes in a day. That day, X^[8] user @SebastianSB shared screenshots of Dragoneer's final X posts about his condition, writing, "The owner of FurAffinity just died suddenly while struggling to get a diagnosis and getting actively screwed by the US healthcare system.
