JUNlPER's Twitter Ban and "Elon Musk Is A Pedophile" Tweet refers to the October 2023 banning of notable Twitter / X user @JUNlPER, also known as Juniper or Pudding Person, following a tweet sent by her that read, "NEW SCOOP: evidence showing elon musk is a pedophile mounting quickly." A "This is true" community note was added to the tweet and the buzz inspired outrage from Musk's supporters, including posts from Libs of TikTok, aka Chaya Raichik. In turn, Juniper was banned on the platform, sparking outrage and jokes about Musk's Comedy Is Now Legal on Twitter post. Juniper then started posting to her second account @UNSTABLEPOSTING, or yogurt person, which was also banned that same day. Later on October 6th, 2023, Juniper's original X account was unbanned, causing another slew of reactions and memes, with Juniper being rebanned again in the afternoon of October 6th.

Background

On October 4th, 2023, X^[1] user @JUNlPER posted "NEW SCOOP: evidence showing elon musk is a pedophile mounting quickly," linking an article by Forbes^[2] about how Musk was planning to remove headlines from news articles shared on X. The post gained roughly 75,000 likes in two days (shown below).

Soon after the post's upload, a community note reading "This is true" gained enough upvotes, causing it to appear beneath the tweet, shared in a reply from X^[3] user @hacer_kun on October 4th (shown below, left). On October 5th, Chaya Raichik, the admin of Libs of TikTok, posted to X^[4] about Juniper's tweet, gaining roughly 9,000 likes in a day (shown below, right).

On October 6th, 2023, @JUNlPER's account was then suspended, evident in a post shared by X^[5] user @LolOverruled who referenced the phrase It's So Over, gaining roughly 19,000 likes in less than a day (shown below).

Online Reaction

On October 6th, 2023, X^[6] user @ErinInTheMorn related @JUNlPER's ban to Chaya Raichik's post, gaining roughly 13,000 likes in less than a day (shown below, left). On the same day, X^[7] user @SaeedDiCaprio joked, "wait I thought comedy was now legal on twitter ??" receiving roughly 46,000 likes in the same timeframe (shown below, right).

Evident in the two aforementioned posts, many people supported @JUNlPER in the discourse surrounding the incident, alluding to injustice in regards to her being suspended. Others on X humorously celebrated @JUNlPER's ban, such as X^[8] user @DaSkrubKing who wrote, "ok this is the one time I'll give elon a free pass," gaining over 290 likes in less than a day (shown below).

Secondary Account "Yogurt Person" Banned

On October 6th, 2023, @JUNlPER started tweeting on a secondary account called @UNSTABLEPOSTING,^[13] however, the account was also banned on October 6th, evident in a post shared by X^[11] user @Esqueer_ on the day of, gaining roughly 5,300 likes in less than a day (shown below, left). The development inspired reactions, such as a Bush Learning About 9/11 post shared by X^[12] user @holovoid_, gaining over 510 likes in the same timeframe (shown below, right).

JUNlPER's Unban

Later on October 6th, 2023, @JUNlPER's account was unbanned, causing reactions on X.^[9][14] @JUNlPER then posted her first tweet^[10] once back on her account, using the Are You Enjoying the Show? meme, gaining roughly 24,500 likes in less than an hour (shown below).

At around 3:24 p.m. EST on October 6th, 2023, @JUNlPER's main account was suspended again, documented in a post shared by X^[15] user @WesternKabuki, gaining roughly 2,600 likes in an hour (shown below).
