Overview
Kamehameha Mythic is a limited-time Mythic item available during Fortnite's Dragon Ball event that allows the player to shoot a Kamehameha beam. The item was added to the game in August 2022 and numerous videos of characters using it were uploaded online over the following days. It was met with some criticism for being overpowered.
History
On August 16th, 2022, the Dragon Ball event began on Fortnite. The event adds several characters from Dragon Ball Z as player skins, quests related to the series, adds the Kame house to the map and adds several item, including the Nimbus cloud and the Mythic Kamehameha item, which lets the players shoot three Kamehameha blasts before breaking. The item does 100 damage initially and an additional 40 damage for three seconds.[1]
Online Presence
Over the following days, Fortnite players began posting videos and edits showcasing the item, often to highlight the absurdity of Dragon Ball characters doing Fortnite dances and being in the game in general. For example, on August 16th, 2022, Twitter[2] user @BigFurryBalls posted a video of Goku using the item then hitting the griddy, garnering over 281,000 likes and 42,000 retweets in a day (shown below).

On the same day, Twitter[3] user @OnTheDownLoTho posted a video using the LeBron James skin to shoot the Kamehameha at a player with the John Wick skin, garnering over 37,900 likes and 3,500 retweets in a day (shown below).

On the day the item was added, several videos were uploaded online suggesting the item is OP, including uploads by YouTubers Daily Clips Central and Kobes Shorts, garnering over 183,000 views and 28,000 views in a day (shown below, left and right).
