Nick Jonas and John Stamos Inception T-shirt War refers to the back and forth inception Instagram photo war between American actor John Stamos and Nick Jonas of The Jonas Brothers.

Background

John Stamos has been known to wear Jonas Brothers' dan t-shirts out in public. On October 9th, 2018, John Stamos^[2] posted a photo of himself at the American Music Awards wearing a Jonas Brother's t-shirt (shown below). The post gained 112,000 likes in five months.

Macaulay Culkin and Ryan Gosling T-Shirt Inception

On March 22, 2013, Ryan Gosling was photographed wearing a T-shirt of Macaulay Culkin on a LIFE Magazine cover (shown below, left). On May 12th, 2014, Culkin's band, Pizza Underground posted a photo of Culkin wearing a t-shit of the photo (shown below, right).^[6] This lead to further photoshops of t-shirt inception between the two online.

Developments

On October 9th, 2018, Twitter user JosephJUpdates^[1] posted photos of "The many times John Stamos has worn a Jonas Brothers shirt" (shown below). The tweet gained 511 retweets and 1,400 likes in five months.

On March 2nd, Nick Jonas^[3] posted a picture of himself to Instagram wearing a t-shirt that has John Stamos wearing a Jonas Brother's t-shirt on it with the caption "It’s your move @johnstamos #jonasbrothers #sucker" (shown below). The post gained 1.5 million likes in 12 days.

On March 6th, John Stamos^[4] posted a photo of himself to Instagram with his head resting on a pillowcase that features Jonas' Instagram photo with the caption, "I had the craziest dream last night…#jonasbrothers #sucker" (shown below, left). The post gained 422,488 likes in nine days. On March 12th, NickJonas^[5] posted a picture of himself sleeping in bedding with the Stamos pillow picture on it to Instagram with the caption, "I’ll sleep well tonight knowing #sucker is number 1!" (shown below, right). The post gained 2.2 million likes in three days.
