Overview

Trisha Paytas and Jon Hill Controversy refers to controversial YouTuber Trisha Paytas posting photos and videos of herself kissing beauty vlogger Jaclyn Hill's ex-husband Jon Hill. Though the videos and photos posted in late December 2019, many Twitter users and fellow YouTubers labeled the posts as staged due to both of their reputations.

Background

On December 29th, 2019, Trisha Paytas posted a photo of Jon Hill kissing her to Instagram[1] with the caption, "Can’t wait to get pregnant tonight @jonhill822 I FUCKING LOVE UUUUUUUUU" (shown below). The photo gained over 177,100 likes in three days.



That same night Trisha Paytas posted videos of them kissing on her Instagram stories while "La Chona" plays in the background. The video was reuploaded to YouTube by Emily Carreno (shown below).

Developments

On December 30th, 2019, Twitter user @cassidygcrane[2] pointed out Jaclyn Hill's attitude during the whole matter with the tweet, "the internet is going nuts over jon hill and trisha paytas making out on instagram, meanwhile jaclyn hill is minding her business tweeting about a corn dip recipe. god bless this woman" (shown below, left). The tweet gained over 3,800 likes and 230 retweets in two days. That same day, fellow Youtuber Ashlyn VanHorn responded on Twitter[3] by saying, "hahaha i just talked to dude on the phone for the first time in forever the other day and he said this was planned to piss ppl off. I guess it’s working 😂" (shown below, right). The tweet gained over 600 likes in two days.

Many YouTubers like Jeffree Star chose not to respond to the situation as shown in YouTuber living for teas video which accumulated over 85,000 views in two days (shown below).
