Trisha Paytas' Eminem "We Made You" Music Video Dance refers to a dance performed by content creator and YouTuber Trisha Paytas in the music video for Eminem's 2009 song "We Made You" in which she plays Jessica Simpson. In June 2024, the dance inspired a trend on TikTok in which users perform the dance under captions referencing the music video.

Origin

On April 7th, 2009, Eminem released the song "We Made You," along with a music video in which several celebrities are played by actors and impersonators. At the beginning of the video, social media personality Trisha Paytas appears as Jessica Simpson, dressed to resemble Simpson's role in The Dukes of Hazzard. In the video, she dances in front of a car and eats a burger (shown below).[1]

On June 12th, 2024, TikToker[2] @chrisctrl posted a clip of Paytas dancing in the music video, garnering over 4.1 million views in a week. On June 16th, TikToker[3] @troixtroi posted a video where she attempts to do the same dance under the caption, "b*tch, you better not be in there doing the Trisha Paytas dance from the Eminem 'We Made You' video," garnering over 5 million views in four days (shown below).

The trend spread over the following days. On June 17th, TikToker[4] @pinkdjinandtonic posted a video doing the dance, garnering over 1.6 million views in three days (shown below, left). On June 18th, TikToker[5] @susiejtodd posted a video doing the dance, garnering over 1.7 million views in two days (shown below, right).

On June 20th, 2024, Paytas posted a video to TikTok[6] of herself doing the dance in response to the trend, writing, "Fun fact: I did choreograph this myself :) 🀣 there was no direction," garnering over 430,000 views in roughly an hour (shown below).
