Trisha Paytas' "King Tut" Video refers to a viral video of influencer Trisha Paytas dancing and lip dubbing to Steve Martin's parody song "King Tut" while wearing an Egyptian-style outfit. The video was posted on August 27th, 2020 and went viral, inspiring reactions, recreations and memes referencing it. The anniversary of the video is often celebrated by Paytas and other TikTokers in the following years, with Paytas recreating it numerous times throughout the 2020s.
Origin
On May 22nd, 1978, actor Steve Martin performed a parody song called "King Tut" on Saturday Night Live, which was uploaded to the show's YouTube[1] page on September 10th, 2013, garnering over 8 million views in 10 years (shown below).
On August 27th, 2020, TikToker[2] @trishlikefish88, the account of influencer Trisha Paytas, posted a video where she dances and lip dubs to the song while wearing a King Tut outfit. The video, captioned, "#euphoric will prob delete. Prob offensive," went viral, gaining tens of millions of views and over 2.9 million views in three years (shown below).

The video inspired numerous memes and reactions following its virality, with Trisha also referencing it numerous times. On Septembr 24th, 2020, TikTokers[3][4] @georgegaraway and @trishlikefish88 posted a parody of the video and a recreation of it respectively, garnering over 1.1 million likes respectively in three years (shown below, left and right).

On August 27th, 2021, @trishlikefish posted a video to TikTok[5] of her husband, Moses Hacmon, recreating the video, garnering over 740,000 likes in two years (shown below).

Trisha began recreating the video on its anniversary every year, duetting the last performance to showcase them all. For example, on August 27th, 2022, she posted a duet to the previous versions to TikTok[6] that gained over 1.3 million likes in a year (shown below, left). A year later on August 27th, 2023, she posted a recreation to TikTok[7] while holding her baby, dressed like King Tut, garnering over 2.5 million views in a day (shown below, right).
