Flame Atronach and Fire Resistance Potion refers to a series of The Elder Scrolls memes about characters taking a "potion of resist fire" so they can have sex with the Flame Atronach, an enemy and summoned minion resembling a woman made of fire. The earliest known meme on the subject was posted to Reddit in April 2021, inspiring further memes over the following years, including a viral webcomic by Kamvret Comics in 2023. The memes experienced a boost in virality in late April 2025 following the release of Oblivion: Remastered, which features the Flame Atronach in UE5.

On April 29th, 2021, Redditor u/pandabonghits posted a meme to the /r/ElderScrolls^[1] subreddit featuring the caption, "Oh God forgive me for what I'm about to do," over an image of a Flame Atronach enemy bent over a table, garnering over 7,300 upvotes in four years.

That day, Redditor u/0202inferno posted a comment imagining the Atronach asking her summoner why he has so many potions of fire resistance, garnering over 190 upvotes in the same span of time.

Memes about using fire resistance potions to sleep with Flame Atronachs became increasingly popularized over the following months. On December 17th, 2021, Redditor u/ThatDrako posted a Gru's plan meme to the /r/SkyrimMemes^[2] subreddit making the joke that gained over 1,500 upvotes in four years.

On April 9th, 2022, Redditor u/That_Weird_Coworker posted a Wojak meme to /r/SkyrimMemes^[3] making the joke titled, "Anyone got a potion of fire resistance?" garnering over 2,600 upvotes in three years.

On August 20th, 2023, iFunny^[4] user Disturbingly posted a meme about the shopkeeper giving a person a dirty look for buying a Flame Atronach summon and potions of fire resist, garnering over 9,500 smiles in two years.

On September 10th, Instagram^[5] user and artist kamvretcomics posted a comic in which an adventurer buys a Flame Atronach summoning scroll and a potion of resist fire, garnering over 23,000 likes in two years.

On October 9th, Redditor u/ZEAC2001 posted an "OK, hear me out" meme to the /r/SkyrimMemes^[6] subreddit using an image of the Flame Atronach and a resist fire potion, garnering over 6,700 upvotes in roughly two years.

On October 14th, YouTuber^[7] Jackie and Alice INC posted a voiced-over version of the comic by Kamvret Comics, garnering over 100,000 views in roughly two years.

On January 8th, 2025, TikToker^[8] @pyrophobic0 posted a lip dub skit using an audio from Bob's Burgers that gained over 448,000 views in three months.

On April 23rd, X^[9] user @MondayMagi posted a screenshot of a Flame Atronach's rear end in Oblivion: Remastered, writing, "someone from the oblivion remaster team definitely saw that flame atronach 'fire resistance potion' comic," garnering over 1,300 likes in two days.

Later that day, X^[10] user @DAKKADAKKA1 quoted the post, writing, "I take it all back. They didn’t ruin the Flame Atronarch’s fat ass. Oblivion Remastered is Kino," garnering over 6,000 likes in the same span of time.

Also on April 23rd, 2025, X^[11] user @BasedRPG posted a screenshot from Oblivion: Remastered showing a Flame Atronach dead next to a man propped against a bed with a potion of resist fire between them, writing, "Peak environmental storytelling," garnering over 160,000 likes in two days.
