For The D Challenge, also known as the For The Dick Challenge and the For That D Challenge, is a social game based on a song by the rapper GameOva REEDY. Participants perform a freestyle rap to the song, explaining all the things they would do for sexual relations with a man.

Origin

On April 17th, 2017, GameOva Films posted the video for the "For That Dick" freestyle on YouTube. Within two years, the video received more than 3.9 million views (shown below).



Spread

Following the video's release, people began posting their own variations on the song. For example, on September 13th, 2017, Instagram [1] user @lightskinkeisha posted a video of herself rapping over the song with Instagram user @bigbra_jas. She tagged the video "#ForThatDickChallenge." The post received more than 85,000 likes and 576,000 views


Several days later, on September 21st, Twitter user @KhadiDon posted a video of herself performing the song. The post received more than 13,000 retweets, 28,000 likes and 862,000 views in two years (shown below).


Several days later, comedian Michael Blackson posted a variation of singer Erykah Badu singing the song. The post received more than 1,000 retweets and 1,000 likes in two years (shown below).




On September 26th, actresses Issa Rae and Regina Hall tweeted a version of the song. The post received more tahn 67,000 retweets and 129,000 likes in two years.

Several media outlets reported on the challenge, including the Root,[2] XXL,[3] the Sun[4] and more.
