About

General Reposti is a commonly used comment on the /r/PrequelMemes subreddit, meaning that the post in question has already been posted. The phrase is a parody of the scene from Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith in which the character Obi-Wan Kenobi (played by Ewan McGregor) surprises the character General Grievous by saying "Hello there." Grievous turns around and says, "General Kenobi, you are a bold one."

Origin

On May 19th, 2005, the science fiction space opera film Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith was released in the United States. In the film, Obi-Wan Kenobi surprises the antagonist General Grievous by sneaking behind him and saying, "Why hello there." Grievous, unfazed, turns around and responds, "General Kenobi, you are a bold one" (clip below).
