The account began posting on February 2nd, 2025 and garnered over 11,000 followers in four days.

Origin

On January 29th, 2025, X^[1] user blahaj__blast posted a video captioned, "Day in the life of a Gomer" in which Homer Simpson's face has been poorly edited into a Wojak-based video, writing, "i just got this in my dms what the fuck does this mean," garnering around 60 likes in a week. This is the earliest known Gomer meme.

The X user continued to post Gomer memes over the following days. The memes typically poorly edit Gomer's face over a given subject. For example, on February 1st, the X^[2] user posted an edit of the what was the incident at your high school meme featuring Gomer, garnering over 120 likes in five days.

On February 2nd, 2025, X^[3] user @blahaj__blast opened the official @GomerGimpson gimmick account. That day, @GomerGimpson made their first post, consisting of Homer Simpson's face blended into a yellow background, writing, "gomer," garnering over 380 likes in four days.

The @GomerGimpson account continued to post memes featuring Gomer over the following days, with other X users also posting versions of the meme. Most of the memes feature Gomer edited, often poorly, over a subject. Some of these memes are submissions by fans of the page.

On February 4th, @GomerGimpson made a post to X^[4] sharing an edit of Gomer over a scene from Breaking Bad, garnering over 38,000 likes in two days.

Later that day, @GomerGimpson posted, "gomer love you." The X^[5] account then reposted their own post with a similar image of Peter Griffin in a field of his flesh tone, writing, "unless you geter. gomer dislike geter," garnering over 14,000 likes in two days.
