The fake screenshot put the fear of God in my heart. On one hand it makes no sense for them to do this, it's like Microsoft shutting down bing, or Apple shutting down iTunes. On the other hand Google is in my mid repeatedly noted as shutting down stuff, other companies would cling to like lifeboats, and I haven't heard much about gmail compared to Youtube or Chrome for quite some time. It was just plausibl enough I had to check. It wouldn't wreck me, but Gmail ended up being "my" e-mail fo a decade now, it would suck to see it go.
