O Kaimono O Kaimono refers to a line, translated as "shopping," sung by Hatsune Miku in a cameo in the Jashin-chan Dropkick X series. The moment was later used in remixes as well as an inspiration for memes about how the song will stick in listeners' heads.

Origin

On July 6th, 2022, season 3, episode 1 of Jashin-chan Dropkick X, titled "Harmagedon Karuta X," premiered in Japan.[1] In the episode, Hatsune Miku appears in a cameo in which she goes shopping. Jashin wants her negi or leek and buys it for 100 yen. On the same day, Facebook[2] user Ridhoch uploaded the scene. The video received more than 7,600 reactions and 11,626 shares in one week. On July 9th, 2022, the Twitter[3] official account of Jashin-chan Dropkick also uploaded the scene. The tweet received more than 68,000 likes and 18,000 retweets in two days (shown below).

The scene became a popular inspiration for memes and fan art in the coming days. For example. on July 8th, 2022, Facebook[4] user CHANDRA NZN uploaded fan art of Miku in the scene. The post received more than 1,000 reactions and 696 shares (shown below, left). On June 10th, 2022, Facebook[5] user Yumna Hutoyo uploaded a Trade Offer edit based on the scene. The post received more than 1,700 reactions and 1,200 shares (shown below, right).



Others made memes about how the song got stuck in their head. For example, on July 9th, 2022, Facebook[6] user Phriez Vinsmoke uploaded a meme with the scene in the background to "Distrik 43 [S6]" group. The post received more than 3,400 reactions and 1,279 shares (shown below, left). On the next day, Facebook[7] user Rayver Joring uploaded an edit with Miku walking through multiple video games to the "LowRes MK11" group. The video received more than 4,000 reactions and 2,286 shares (shown below, right).
