Help I Decided to Wear a Pencil Skirt is a copypasta in which a person tells a story about wearing a pencil skirt to class only to have the boys yell "wow hourglass" and have nosebleeds after she introduced herself, revealing her "mommy voice" to them. The copypasta was popularized as a spam comment on TikTok in October 2024 and spread to X / Twitter that month, inspiring variants as a phrasal template in which various aspects of the copypasta are replaced.
Origin
It is unclear where the "pencil skirt" copypasta originated. The earliest known post referencing it was posted by TikToker[1] @rawpotato_amazonb on October 10th, 2024, garnering over 168,000 views in two weeks. The post is made to criticize those who post the copypasta in TikTok comment sections for being annoying.

Videos complaining about the copypasta's use as a spam comment became increasingly popular on TikTok throughout October 2024. For example, on October 13th, 2024, TikToker[2] @jaydensalaam posted a video criticizing those who spam the copypasta, garnering over 3.9 million views in two weeks.

On October 20th, X[4] user @kaiisyourking posted a version of the copypasta as a response to @sharkfrot's post about wearing kawaii cosplay to school, garnering over 2,500 likes in a week. On October 21st, X[5] user @selmacashmoney posted a selfie wearing a pencil skirt under the copypasta, garnering over 1,500 likes in a week.
On October 24th, TikToker[6] @danwoolleyplays posted a video asking why people are spamming the comment, garnering over 70,000 views in four days.
