About

I Did My Dance One Time On TikTok and Went Viral With It is a viral TikTok audio and song lyrics, appearing on the track "In The Bible" by Canadian recording artist Drake. The lyrics, in which the rapper Lil Dirk is saying that he was able to make a TikTok with his dance and go viral, have been used in two different viral challenges and trends on the platform over three years, beginning in 2021 shortly after the song's release and then again in 2024.

Origin

On September 3rd, 2021, the song "In The Bible" was released by Drake as part of his Certified Lover Boy album. Later that day, an official lyric video was uploaded to YouTube by the channel Revive Music,[1] where it reached over 3.5 million views in two years and inspired a lot of Shorts to be made using the audio sample (shown below).

Lyrics

Back to back, I'm wrestlin' with 'em
Lean voice, I'm raspy with it
I did my dance one time on TikTok then went viral with it
Mm-mm, mm, mm-mm, mm, mm-mm, mm, mm-mm (yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah)

TikTok Trend

On September 15th, 2021, TikToker LaylaMarie[2] uploaded one of the first uses of the audio on TikTok, featuring her repeating her viral dance that won her a Video Music Award in the best viral dance category, thanking her fans and saying the audio is literally me (shown below).

Spread

Taking the lyrics in a literal sense, the first initial viral uses of the audio were to showcase people who had previously gone viral on TikTok and then show what actions led to it. On September 22nd, 2021, the TikToker HannahBalaney[3] stitched her original viral dance from 2020 to her talking about it while using the audio, while the TikToker OliviaArcher[4] uploaded her own variation that did not involve dancing on October 26th, 2021, both earning over 2 million likes each (shown below, left and right).

In mid-2024, the phrase began to see usage again as people recorded TikToks of themselves singing out loud in public. These TikToks, often using the on-screen context of claiming to be the person just realizing they are able to sing, started to go viral with the song only being used as a phrase to say out loud and no other context.

For example, on May 14th, 2024, TikToker querichhh[5] went viral with over 260,000 likes and 2.4 views in one week for his variation, in which he can be seen singing in a classroom (shown below).
