I Do Not Have Time For This is a quote said by actress Julia Garner as Anna Delvey in the Netflix series Inventing Anna. The full quote, "I do not have time for this. I do not have time for you!," became a viral sound on TikTok in February and March 2022 where people crafted skits about facing minor annoyances.

Origin

In Inventing Anna, actress Julia Garner, playing infamous socialite Anna Delvey, berates another character with the line, "I do not have time for this. I do not have time for you!" (shown below).



On February 16th, 2022, the Netflix TikTok account[1] isolated the clip and posted it to TikTok, where it gained over 66,000 likes in over one month (shown below).

Spread

Over the following months, the clip became a prominent sound on TikTok, as users paired the sound with sketches based on minor annoyances. For example, on March 16th, 2022, TikTok user shadiajxx,[2] a dentist, posted a TikTok about being annoyed a patient wouldn't open their mouth properly, gaining over 52,000 likes in three weeks (shown below, left). On March 26th, user @unitedkingdomofkatebrit[3] posted an example about the show Bridgerton, gaining over 9,000 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).

Other popular examples include a post by Jeffree Star that gained over 255,000 likes in one month[5] (shown below, left) and a post by The Tonight Show TikTok account,[6] which featured Laverne Cox mouthing the line, gaining over 13,000 likes in six weeks (shown below, right).
