I Wish All Lesbians a Very Pleasant Evening refers to a snowclone meme based on an image of Bugs Bunny in a tuxedo which one uses to wish a something, usually a pleasant evening, to a person or group. Originating from a viral Tumblr post, the format gained popularity online in October 2020 as I Wish All X a Very Y snowclone.

Origin

On October 8th, 2020, Tumblr^[1] user sunshineofyourlove1967 posted an image macro based on a popular Tuxedo Bugs Bunny fan art, captioned "i wish all lesbians a very pleasant evening." The post received over 57,900 likes and reblogs in two months (shown below).

Spread

Starting on the same day, users on other sites reposted the image. For example, a same-day repost by Instagram^[2] user boisobscur received over 1,100 likes in two months. Also on the same day, Twitter^[3] user @meduka_ebooks posted the earliest known derivative meme, replacing Bugs Bunny with Madoka Kaname and gaining over 280 retweets and 600 likes (shown below, left).

On October 15th, 2020, Instagram^[4] user sadboicentral posted the earliest known meme which used the original post as a snowclone, replacing "lesbians" with "Owl City enjoyers" (shown below, center). On October 17th, Twitter^[5] user @cvspharmercy made a post that received over 11,800 retweets and 38,700 likes in one month (shown below, right).

Following the viral spread of sunshineofyourlove1967's and @cvspharmercy's posts online, starting in late October 2020 the meme format gained notable popularity, particularly on Twitter. In some examples, the snowclone has been altered to a more flexible variation "I Wish All X an Y."
