The pledge posts, in which users often promised to draw profile pictures for their followers or complete other things, achieved virality in late October 2024 in the weeks preceding the election as a way of supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election.

On October 22nd, 2024, X^[1] / Twitter account @PopCrave made a post about the approaching 2024 U.S. Presidential election, writing, "Election Day is exactly two weeks away." On October 23rd, X^[2] user @wiiudisks quoted the post with a pledge to draw OC characters and profile pictures for every person who commented on their post if the Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris was the one who won the election. The post (shown below) received over 5,500 replies, 2,300 reposts and 37,000 likes in one week.

In late October 2024, the trend in which people pledged to do something, often for those people who reply, in the event Kamala Harris wins the election achieved popularity on X / Twitter.

For example, on October 23rd, 2024, X^[3] user @KoriVRC_ promised to draw personalized banners for her followers in a post that garnered over 2,500 reposts, 53,000 likes and over 14,000 comments before @KoriVRC_ disabled the replies (shown below).
