Kanye vs. Twix refers to an imaginary battle between Kanye West (Ye) and the Twix candy bar because West purported in a rant on Instagram Live and in a viral paparazzi video that "They Make the Twix Bigger. They Tryna Make Us Fat," inspiring a conspiracy theory that Twix were being doubled in size. The viral videos spread on Twitter / X and TikTok in early 2024, surfacing around the release of Ye's album Vultures 1.
Origin
On December 15th, 2023, Instagram[1] user @yesjulz went Live with Ye and others. A roughly 10-minute recording of the Live was posted by YouTuber[2] EsmajayTwo on December 15th, in which Ye was seen talking about his anti-Semitism controversies and struggles with seeing North West, among other topics (shown below). Instagram[3] user @nike.kd also posted a long-form recording of the Live on December 15th, gaining over 7,400 likes in two months.
On December 16th, 2023, X[4] user @rapdose posted a recording of Instagram[3] user @nike.kd's video, highlighting one moment during Ye's rant in which he said, "They done motherfuckin' made the Twix double the size, tryna make us fat." @rapdose captioned the clip, "this is my favorite part of the latest kanye west rant," gaining over 9,100 likes in two months (shown below).

Spread
The video was reposted by others on X[5] in December 2023. In January 2024, the clip gained more posts on X, like in one post shared by X[6] user @vonbitty on January 9th, 2024, gaining over 12,000 likes in a month.
On February 12th, 2024, X[7] user @kanyestreams1 posted a new video from TMZ's paparazzi. At the end of the video, Kanye mentioned his point on Twix, saying, "They make the Twix bigger. They tryna make us fat." The post received over 39,000 likes in three days (shown below).

After Kanye's second mention of his Twix theory, memes started to surface. For instance, on February 12th, 2024, X[8] user @dondatimes captioned the Pointing Rick Dalton GIF with, "Twix bigger make us fat mentioned," gaining over 3,000 likes in three days (shown below, left).
On February 13th, X[9] user @biggersocks tweeted a photo of two large Twix bars, writing, "they make the twix bigger they tryna make us fat," gaining over 1,500 likes in two days (shown below, right).
Also, on February 13th, 2024, TikToker[10] @kanyewestlover911 posted a compilation of both clips, gaining over 4.4 million plays and 730,400 likes in two days (shown below).
