On August 16th, 2019, TikTok influencer Bryce Hall posted a tweet^[1] that included a photo of him and fellow Sway House members at the pool, asking his followers, "you see us all at the pool wyd," and earning roughly 2,500 likes in three years. On August 22nd, 2019, Twitter user fictionaljake (since suspended) quote retweeted Hall's tweet, essentially answering his question by saying, "Killing myself in front of you to forever change your bond and the trajectory of your lives," and earning an unknown amount of likes (shown below).

Spread

A screenshot of the tweet was reposted to multiple platforms, most notably in 2021. For instance, on June 12th, 2021, it was reposted by Twitter^[2] user ChuuMeal reposted it and earned over 1,000 likes in 11 months. On November 1st, 2021, the Facebook^[3] page Coven of Hoes reposted it, earning roughly 2,400 shares in six months.

On July 8th, 2021, the Instagram^[4] page waldorfcomplex posted an image macro that used a remixed version of the template, referencing the musician Clairo. Over the course of 10 months, the post received over 510 likes (shown below, left). On April 17th, 2022, the Twitter^[5] page tumblrimpact posted a tweet that exploited the original screenshot and added in signifiers of the video game Genshin Impact, earning roughly 37,000 likes in one month (shown below, right).

More iterations of the meme surfaced on Twitter^[6] and Instagram^[7] in 2021 and 2022.
