About

Lady Gaga "I Don't Believe In The Glorification Of Murder" refers to a quote from singer and actor Lady Gaga made at the premiere of the film House of Gucci, in which she stars as Patricia Reggiani, the wife and murderer of Maurizio Gucci. The full quote reads, "I don't believe in the glorification of murder. I do believe in the empowerment of women." The clip was used in numerous TikTok videos and as a reaction video on Twitter.

Origin

On the red carpet at the November 10th, 2021, the premiere of House of Gucci, Lady Gaga responded to a question about how she was able to portray Reggiani, saying "I don't believe in the glorification of murder. I do believe in the empowerment of women." She discussed how she attempted to make Reggiani's journey towards her ultimate murder of Gucci plausible. Video of the full quote was shared by The Economic Times on Facebook that evening.[1] The same day, the clip was cut by TikTok user Yahoolife, gaining over 426,000 likes and 2.4 million views in one day (shown below).
