Lario refers to a Pizza Tower meme that shows a character in the game's "Gnome Forest" who was dubbed Lario after a viral video of a Lario slideshow set to the song Everybody Wanna Be A Superstar (also known as Young Thug x Kevin MacLeod's "Sneaky Snitch") surfaced on TikTok and then YouTube in February 2023. The Lario image received redraws and video variations going into 2023. The original Lario video was uploaded to TikTok in October 2022.

Origin

On October 3rd, 2022, TikToker^[1] @guythmind posted a video that was a slideshow including the same image over and over again. The image was a Pizza Tower image from the "Gnome Forest" loading screen,^[2] showing three characters sitting down in the grass. TikToker @guythmind's video received over 350 plays in four months (shown below). Additionally, in a later YouTube^[3] video uploaded months later by TikToker @guythmind, he stated in the video's comment section that he got the image from a McPig_Jr Twitch ^[4] stream.

Spread

The video likely spread in private, Pizza Tower-related Discord servers going into early 2023 as it started surfacing on other social media platforms like Twitter and YouTube. For instance, on February 4th, 2023, Twitter^[5] user @TheNerdFella tweeted the video, earning roughly 1,000 views and 19 likes in 16 days. On February 5th, 2023, YouTuber^[6] ScruffTuna posted an extended version of the meme, earning roughly 34,800 views and 1,900 likes in 15 days (shown below).

In mid-February 2023, the Lario image and video started earning redraws. For instance, on February 13th, 2023, Twitter^[7] user @KetArtDragon tweeted a self-made, high-quality version of the Lario image, gaining roughly 11,400 likes in one week (shown below).

More video variations of Lario surfaced on YouTube and elsewhere, such as a Lario YTPMV uploaded by YouTuber^[8] Rolobi on February 7th, 2023, that received roughly 25,000 views and 1,800 likes in 13 days (shown below).
