About

Everybody Wanna Be A Superstar, also known as Young Thug x Kevin MacLeod's "Sneaky Snitch," refers to a mash-up remix of rapper Young Thug's song "Superstar" and composer Kevin Macleod's song "Sneaky Snitch" that surfaced on TikTok as a goofy ahh sound in late 2022. The song was used for multiple video memes in which characters lip-dubbed the song. It was also used for multiple TikTok photo slideshows going into early 2023.

Origin

On May 13th, 2022, TikToker[1] @djkhaledsdildo posted a video that showed a moldy video of the Sad Emoji and Krater singing along to a remix of Young Thug's "Superstar" and Kevin MacLeod's "Sneaky Snitch." The video received roughly 689,200 plays and 74,200 likes in nine months (shown below).

Spread

The TikTok's sound[2] received mass usage going into the end of 2022, whereby mid-February 2023, the sound[2] had amassed roughly 44,400 videos using it. Some of the most viral uses of the sound were photo slideshows and they surfaced en masse starting in October 2022.

On October 15th, 2022, YouTuber[3] Datboi reposted TikToker[1] @djkhaledsdildo's video to the new platform, earning roughly 131,300 views and 5,000 likes in four months (shown below, left). Video memes using the remix then surfaced on YouTube, like one video uploaded by YouTuber[4] ImPyrofyre on November 2nd, 2022, that used footage from Hotel Transylvania and other emoji like the Chinese emoji present in memes about China's Social Credit System. Over the course of three months, the video received roughly 32,900 views and 1,800 likes (shown below, right).

On December 9th, 2022, YouTuber[5] uploaded a full-length version of the mash-up remix created by them, earning roughly 26,400 views and 1,500 likes in two months (shown below).

In early 2023, the TikTok[2] sound gained more usage from slideshow shitposters on the app, snowballing more virality as time went on.
