Lil Uzi Vert's Forehead Diamond refers to a pink $24 million diamond that rapper Lil Uzi Vert had embedded into his forehead in February 2021. The rapper's decision to install the diamond into his body became a subject of memes, especially references to the Avengers: Infinity War scene in which Thanos takes the mind stone from Vision.

Origin

On January 30th, 2021, American rapper Lil Uzi Vert tweeted^[1] that he has purchased a natural pink diamond worth $24 million from Eliantte custom jewelry store and wrote that he was planning to have it embedded into his forehead (tweet shown below, left). On the same day, the Instagram^[2] page for Eliantte posted a story in which the diamond was held against Lil Uzi Vert's forehead (screenshot shown below, right).

Spread

Following the posts, several jokes about the diamond were made, with several users referencing the Avengers: Infinity War scene in which Thanos pulls the mind stone from Vision's forehead. For example, on February 2nd, 2021, Twitter^[3] user @woahgio_ made one such post that received over 9,600 retweets and 60,300 likes in two days (shown below, right).

On February 3rd, 2021, Lil Uzi Vert^[4][5] and Elliante^[6] made social media posts demonstrating that the diamond has been successfully installed into Uzi's forehead (shown below, left and right). Lil Uzi Vert's Instagram post received over 8.5 million views and 2 million likes, with his Twitter post gaining additional 1.4 million views, 5,500 retweets and 78,400 likes.

On February 3rd, the diamond became a viral subject of discussions and memes on social media, with multiple users referencing Avengers: Infinity War, Naruto and making other pop culture references.
