A Magic Cross Piercing is a male genital piercing in which two bars (a pallang and an apadravya) are pierced through the head of the penis, forming the shape of a cross. The Magic Cross Piercing went viral on TikTok in May 2025 following a Don't Google trend in which TikTokers told each other not to look up "Magic Cross Piercing" on TikTok or Google. The shock media trend led to memes and video skits about the Magic Cross Piercing in subsequent days.

Origin

The origin of the Magic Cross Piercing is currently unknown, but the name was first used online on December 18th, 2006, on a Czech piercing website called piercing23.cz.^[1] A Wikipedia^[2] page for the Magic Cross Piercing was created on May 13th, 2007, and was first added to the Internet Archive^[3] in 2008.

Viral posts about the Magic Cross Piercing didn't surface until the 2020s. TikToker^[4] @chynnapegram shared the earliest known example on November 17th, 2024, showing herself in shock reacting to someone saying they got the piercing, gaining over 67,500 likes in six months (shown below).

Heading into 2025, more videos about the Magic Cross Piercing went viral on TikTok. For instance, on May 22nd, TikToker^[5] @nataliexxxreynolds posted a video skit about giving her brother a Magic Cross Piercing, gaining over 171,800 likes in four days (shown below).

On May 24th, 2025, TikToker^[6] @evenmorebrandonspam posted a video about the Magic Cross Piercing videos appearing on the app, gaining over 31,500 likes in two days (shown below).
