Should I Kill Myself or Kill Them?

Should I Kill Myself or Kill Them? is a template meme involving Mayor Meanswell pondering whether he should commit suicide or murder in relation to a subject posted in the previous frame. The earliest instance can be traced back to July 2nd, 2016, during the #GrowingUpShy trend on Twitter where user @FactsOfSchool posted a tweet describing a situation where they are asked to speak up during a presentation with the macro of Mayor Meanswell saying "Should I kill myself or kill them" in Comic Sans.[1] Other tweets in a similar fashion would follow suit.

#GrowingUpShy when u get a sick idea in a class debate but keep gettin interrupted+someone else says it+gets praised should i kill myself or kill them

The template would not see major use until April 21st, 2019 where Reddit user /u/NineTailedNibba made a post on r/dankmemes where they used the template as a reaction to a video titled "WHY FORTNITE IS WAY BETTER THAN MINECRAFT" by YouTuber Fry Em Up. The post would garner 2,800 upvotes and a 97% approval rating on the subreddit.[2]
