Mom, Can We Leave the Beach Now refers to a series of ironic Doge memes in which Doge asks his mother if they can leave the beach early after a group of people of a particular ethnicity comes and starts loudly playing stereotypical national music on a Bluetooth speaker. In a reverse version of the meme, Doge asks his mom to stay a little longer when he likes the music being played. The image macros appeared online in the early 2020s, spreading over the following years.

On August 19th, 2020, iFunny[1] user Centaur_chestnuts posted an Ironic Doge Meme showing Doge tearing up and asking his mom to leave the beach early due to a group of Mexicans bringing their Bluetooth speaker to the beach (repost; original post could not be discovered). The post (shown below) gained over 60 smiles in five years.

On October 19th, 2020, iFunny[2] user Sadillla posted a video meme based on the image, remaking the image and pairing it with the song "El Taka Taka" by Los Karkik's. The post (shown below) garnered over 620 smiles in five years.

Prior to November 10th, 2020, Facebook user Christian Berrios posted the earliest found edit of the meme, recaptioning it and pairing it with "Chaca Chaca" by DJ Kelvin El Sacamostro. On that day, iFunny[3] user Elsalsa reposted the video, with the repost (shown below) garnering over 170 smiles in five years. A December 22nd, 2020, repost of the same video by iFunny[4] user KeithRichards garnered over 4,600 smiles in the same period.



In 2021 and 2022, users on iFunny and other sites shared more versions of the meme, including reversed versions. For example, on January 29th, 2021, iFunny[5] user Moosay posted a video meme in which Doge asked to stay on the beach a little longer, featuring the country song "Wagon Wheel" by Darius Rucker, which received over 6,300 smiles in four years (shown below).
