On February 21st, 2023, TikToker^[1] @beast_warrior posted a video animated with the Revive app of a human-like cat in a suit singing "Waiting For Love" by Avicii, garnering over 410,000 views in a month (shown below). This is the earliest known upload of the meme.

Spread

The same TikToker continued to upload videos of the cat (often with CapCut templates) over the following weeks, inspiring other TikTokers to do the same. On February 25th, 2023, TikToker^[2] @beast_warrior posted the video over an image and sounds of a pig squealing, garnering over 1.2 million views in three weeks (shown below, left). On February 27th, TikToker^[3] @monday_left_me_broken posted a meme that garnered over 5.9 million views in roughly the same span of time (shown below, right).

On March 3rd, 2023, TikToker^[4] @dehren2010 posted a video using the watermelon cracking open CapCut template to reveal the cat, garnering over 696,000 views in two weeks (shown below).
