About

Revive App Singing Animals refers to a TikTok trend in which creators use the photo animator app Revive on images of dogs, among other animals, to make it look like their mouths are moving and singing pop songs like Avicii's "Wake Me Up" and Powfu's "Death Bed," among others. The trend started in late 2022 after the So Wake Me Up Dog trend. Then, more Revive app dogs emerged such as one saying "Come Over Here And Kiss Me On My Hot Mouth," many saying "Let's Play Football" from iShowSpeed's 2022 World Cup song and one dog called the "Don't Stay Away For Too Long" dog which surfaced in January 2023. Another viral Revive app animal was the Monday Left Me Broken cat.

Origin

On October 17th, 2022, TikToker[1] peanut_2323 posted a video that showed a still photograph of her dog singing Avicii's song "Wake Me Up." TikToker peanut_2323 used the app Revive to make the still photograph sing the song, making it appear that her dog was mouthing it. Over the course of three months, the video received roughly 8.9 million plays and 1.9 million likes (shown below).

The video inspired the So Wake Me Up Dog trend which inserted the video into multiple CapCut templates (examples shown below). The video is what inspired more dogs to be put through the Revie app in memes on TikTok.

Other dog owners and meme creators in general began using the Revive app with other dog photos and other songs. For instance, on November 6th, 2022, TikToker[2] beverlylunden posted a video of presumably her own dogs singing Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" using the Revive app, gaining roughly 1.1 million plays and 231,500 likes in two months (shown below, left). On November 15th, 2022, TikToker[3] natalie.hagood posted a Revive video showing presumably her dog singing LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It." The video received roughly 800,400 plays and 132,700 likes in two months (shown below, right).
