About

Mount Rushmore Trend, also known as My Mount Rushmore, refers to an exploitable meme trend depicting the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in which the faces of the four great American presidents are replaced by characters, celebrities or topics of interest in determined fandoms, typically whoever or whatever the meme creator deems the best or most significant. The meme started in mid-April 2025 on Facebook with an AI-generated image titled White Rapper Mount Rushmore, later inspiring other netizens on Twitter / X, Reddit and Instagram to create their versions of the monument for different categories and topics.

Origin

On April 10th, 2025, Facebook[1] user Devo Media posted an AI-generated image of Mount Rushmore, captioning "The White rapper Mount Rushmore," which replaces the four great American presidents' faces with the faces of rappers Eminem, Mac Miller, Paul Wall and Russ. The post (seen below) received more than 3,600 likes and 988 reposts in two weeks.

Spread

A few weeks after the first Mount Rushmore edit was posted on Facebook, several other photoshopped and AI-generated images of other fandoms' Mount Rushmores gained viral traction on X and Instagram.

For instance, on April 21st, 2025, X[2] user @Mutant_Menace posted the "Mount Rushmore of X-Men characters," adding illustrations of Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm and Rogue over the presidents' faces. The tweet (seen below) amassed more than 8,600 likes and 1,800 reposts in three days.

MEN
