Muhahaha and the "How I Laugh" Trend refers to a series of lip dub and animation memes based on a Bleach fan animation by TikToker @nuyuki in which characters from the anime perform three increasingly evil laughs. The animation was posted to TikTok in late March 2025 and inspired memes over the following weeks on TikTok and YouTube. The original sound saw a significant boost in virality on TikTok in late May 2025 as the source of the "How I Laugh" trend, in which users lip dub to the laugh over a version of the phrasal template "How I Laugh With X," "X" being replaced with a person or group of people. The videos are often meant to be cringeworthy.

Origin

Season 1, Episode 10 of Bleach aired on December 7th, 2004, and follows Ichigo as he resolves the problems TV Star and medium Don Kanonji has created. The episode also shows Ichigo growing increasingly irritated after all his friends start mimicking Don Kanjoni's signature move, where he crosses his hands over his chest and rests them on his shoulders and laughs, "Bo Ha Ha Ha."

A clip of the relevant scenes was posted to YouTube^[9] by funkilla123 on February 28th, 2011, where it gathered over 378,000 views in 14 years.

On March 27th, 2025, TikToker^[7] @nuyuki posted a video in which Bleach characters like Orihime Inoue, Rukia Kuchiki, Ichigo Kurosaki, and Nelliel laugh. The video gained 20 million views and 2.2 million likes in two months. The background music is 'harinezumi' made by waera.^[8]

On April 10th, 2025, TikToker^[1] and animator @_helena.official._ posted a Gacha animation in which a cat girl character laughs in three different ways, each more stereotypically evil-sounding, garnering over 520,000 views in a month.

On April 12th, they uploaded the animation to their YouTube^[2] channel, ʜᴇʟᴇɴᴀ, garnering over 13 million views in the same rough span of time.

On April 15th, 2025, TikToker^[3] and animator @ammy_artdraw posted a short animation using the audio based on the Roblox survival horror game Dandy's World in which three characters, Yatta, Shelly and Dandy, laugh increasingly evil laughs to the beat of a song, garnering over 2.4 million views in a month.

On April 17th, TikToker^[4] @mizuiro_thunder posted a Gacha animation using the audio of @_helena.official._'s upload that gained over 1.6 million views in a month.

The original sound for @ammy_artdraw's TikTok video was used over 150,000 times in the next month, often as the subject of lip dubs, seeing an increase in use in May 2025.

For example, on May 19th, TikToker^[5] @kearsobased posted a lip dub to the sound with a caption for each laugh, the first laugh being how he laughs at femboys, the second how he laughs in front of the gang and the last how he laughs at haters of Twitch streamer Kai Cenat, garnering over 5.8 million views in just over a week.

On May 23rd, 2025, TikToker^[6] @zayzrtz posted a version of the "How I Laugh" meme in which he uses the laughs to show how he laughs in front of the huzz, the bruzz and his enemies, garnering over 7.1 million views in five days.
